Opening of Second Rural Nurse Training Course of China/Italy Development Co-operation of Shaanxi Vocational Training Programme

The second training course of heart ICU for rural medical staff was launched at Shaanxi Provincial People’s Hospital (SPPH) on Jan. 9, 2007. It is financed by China/Italy Development Co-operation of Shaanxi Vocational Training Programme. The one-month training course is the second time conduct, which composes 40 rural medical staff from grassroot hospitals at county or village level. Up to date, Shaanxi VTP of China/Italy Development Co-operation has provided finance assistance for up to 111 rural medical staff.

The opening ceremony was chaired by Deputy President of SPPH Xu Yongguang with presence of PPMO staff. According to the Programme operational plan, SPPH organized this training course of heart ICU by taking into consideration of medical competence at grassroot level in Shaanxi Province. The course was designed specially for rural nurses to learn theory and clinic operation of heart ICU. Its aim is to improve skills of grassroot medical staff. The trainees will enhance medical situation in remote areas and strengthen competence of medical personnel by exerting their key roles in local hospitals.

In line with the schedule, Shaanxi PPMO will take this advantage of the Programme in the next two years. We will arrange more similar and efficient training activities based on medical situations and demands in rural areas so as to contribute to construction of new countryside in Shaanxi Province.
