Shaanxi to Invest RMB1.585 bln for Treatment of Small and Medium-sized Rivers

According to the conference on the treatment of small and medium-sized rivers of Shaanxi held recently, Shaanxi will invest 1.585 billion yuan for the treatment of small and medium-sized rivers with the total length of 550 km, which could protect the life and property safe for a nearly million in the coastal areas.

In recent years, there are 331 projects about 156 rivers listed as the national key treatment of small and medium-sized rivers, with the estimated investment totaling 7.14 billion yuan. These projects involve more than 90 counties and cities of the 10 prefecture-level cities of Shaanxi. In 2011, 25 pilot projects have been completed.

In 2012, Shaanxi further doubled efforts in the river treatment and launched 56 projects successively with an investment of 1.09 billion yuan, including the paid capital worth of 986.5 million yuan from the central and provincial finance. Meanwhile, fifty-nine projects which are planned to launch in 2013 have been started in advance, with the paid capital worth of 598.94 million yuan from the central and provincial finance.
