The First Group of Projects of the 17th East-West China Cooperation & Investment Trade Fair, Involving 488.3 Billion RMB of Investment, Presented for Business Promotion

Recently, reporters learnt from Shaanxi Provincial Department of Commerce that the 17th East-West China Cooperation & Investment Trade Fair will open in Xi’an on April 5, 2013. All the 3,000 exhibition stalls set for the fair have been assigned to participants, showing a generally good business promotion condition. Wang Lixia, vice governor of Shaanxi Province, calls for a practical, efficient, and simple approach to the holding of the fair. During the event, all activities, including the serial ones, should fully match each other and blind spots and excessive decoration should be avoided. It is introduced that during an earlier preparation meeting for the 17th East-West China Cooperation & Investment Trade Fair, all the relevant organizations reported their preparation progress. So far, delegations of 28 provinces (regions, municipalities) have booked 905 exhibition stalls and the delegations of the prefectures and cities of Shaanxi have booked 815 exhibition stalls. Xi’an has collected 306 projects, which involve a total investment of 290 billion RMB. Baoji plans to hold a special promotion conference for high-end equipment manufacturing. Xixian New District and Xianyang City plan to introduce a group of business trade and tourist service projects to support the construction of a Grand Xi’an. Weinan City will carry out project promotion based on its construction as the Eastern Gate to Xi’an. Yan’an plans to organize a Shaanxi businessmen conference. Hanzhong will attract businessmen relying on its rape flower festival as a platform.

Reporters are told that so far, Shaanxi has presented the first group of 210 key projects for business promotion. These projects involve a total investment of 488.3 billion RMB and fall into ten major industry categories, including agriculture, energy source and chemical industry, equipment manufacturing, new and high tech, cultural tourism, and energy conservation and environmental protection. The second group of key projects is being selected. All the 3,000 exhibition stalls set for the fair have been assigned to participants, showing a generally good business promotion condition. Except Shaanxi, some 27 provinces, regions, and municipalities, and Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps have subscribed for 905 stalls, leaving only 27 stalls for flexible arrangement. The cities and districts of Shaanxi Province have subscribed for 815 exhibition stalls, some 269 more than the previous fair. This year, the fair has five major exhibition halls, known as the Investment Talks Hall, New Industries Hall, Overseas Enterprises Hall, Energy-conservation and Environmental-protection Hall, and Tourist Commodities Hall.
